Description

This Spicy Guacamole recipe offers a creamy, zesty twist on the classic Mexican avocado dip. Made with ripe avocados, fresh jalapeños, lime juice, and cilantro, it’s perfect for serving as a flavorful appetizer or party snack.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe avocados, peeled and pitted
  • 1 small red onion, finely chopped
  • 1–2 jalapeño peppers, finely chopped (seeds removed for less heat)
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 medium tomato, diced
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin (optional)
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. Mash the Avocados: In a medium bowl, mash the avocados with a fork until mostly smooth, leaving some chunks for texture.
  2. Combine Ingredients: Stir in the finely chopped red onion, jalapeños, minced garlic, diced tomato, chopped cilantro, lime juice, and salt.
  3. Add Spices: If desired, add ground cumin and a pinch of cayenne pepper to enhance flavor and heat.
  4. Mix and Taste: Mix all ingredients until well combined. Taste the guacamole and adjust salt or lime juice as needed.
  5. Serve or Store: Serve immediately with tortilla chips, or cover tightly with plastic wrap pressed directly onto the surface and refrigerate until ready to serve, to keep it fresh and green.

Notes

  • For extra heat, leave some jalapeño seeds in or add a dash of hot sauce.
  • To keep guacamole green longer, press plastic wrap directly onto the surface before refrigerating.
