Ingredients
Scale
Ingredients
- 3 ripe avocados, peeled and pitted
- 1 small red onion, finely chopped
- 1–2 jalapeño peppers, finely chopped (seeds removed for less heat)
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 medium tomato, diced
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- Juice of 1 lime
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin (optional)
- Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)
Instructions
- Mash the Avocados: In a medium bowl, mash the avocados with a fork until mostly smooth, leaving some chunks for texture.
- Combine Ingredients: Stir in the finely chopped red onion, jalapeños, minced garlic, diced tomato, chopped cilantro, lime juice, and salt.
- Add Spices: If desired, add ground cumin and a pinch of cayenne pepper to enhance flavor and heat.
- Mix and Taste: Mix all ingredients until well combined. Taste the guacamole and adjust salt or lime juice as needed.
- Serve or Store: Serve immediately with tortilla chips, or cover tightly with plastic wrap pressed directly onto the surface and refrigerate until ready to serve, to keep it fresh and green.
Notes
- For extra heat, leave some jalapeño seeds in or add a dash of hot sauce.
- To keep guacamole green longer, press plastic wrap directly onto the surface before refrigerating.
