Perfect for snacking, this mix offers a delightful combination of textures and spices, baked to perfection for a savory treat that’s easy to prepare and great for sharing.

Ingredients

Scale

Baharat Spice Mix

  • 1 tablespoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 2 teaspoons ground nutmeg
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Snack Mix

  • 1 package ramen noodles, broken into small pieces (about 1 1/2 cups)
  • 1 cup redskin peanuts
  • 1 cup raw cashews
  • 1 cup raw almonds
  • 1/2 cup wasabi peas
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) to prepare for roasting the snack mix evenly.
  2. Prepare Baharat Spice Mix: In a bowl, combine ground black pepper, coriander, cinnamon, cloves, cumin, cardamom, nutmeg, paprika, and salt. Stir well to create a uniform spice blend.
  3. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the broken ramen noodles, redskin peanuts, raw cashews, raw almonds, and wasabi peas, ensuring an even distribution.
  4. Add Butter and Spice: Melt the butter and drizzle it over the ramen mixture. Immediately add 2 tablespoons of the Baharat spice mix and stir thoroughly to coat all ingredients evenly with butter and spices.
  5. Season the Mix: Spread the mixture evenly on a cookie sheet or large baking pan. Sprinkle the remaining 2 tablespoons of Baharat spice mix over the top for added flavor.
  6. Bake the Mix: Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 12 to 15 minutes, stirring once or twice if desired, until the nuts are roasted and the mix is fragrant.
  7. Cool and Store: Remove the pan from the oven and allow the snack mix to cool completely in the pan. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container in a dry place for up to one week.

Notes

  • Break the ramen noodles into small pieces before starting to ensure even roasting and easy snacking.
  • Stir the mix halfway through baking for more even roasting if desired.
  • Store in an airtight container to maintain crispness for up to one week.
  • You can adjust the level of Baharat spice according to your taste preferences.
  • Try substituting nuts or adding different dried peas for variety.
