Description

These Peppermint Oreo Truffles are a festive, no-bake treat combining the classic flavors of Oreos, cream cheese, and peppermint. Coated in smooth white chocolate and topped with crushed candy canes, they make the perfect indulgent snack or holiday dessert that’s easy to prepare and delightfully minty.

Ingredients

Scale

Truffle Base

  • 18 regular Oreo cookies
  • 4 oz softened cream cheese
  • 1 tsp peppermint extract

Coating & Toppings

  • 8 oz white melting chocolate
  • 1/4 cup crushed candy canes

Instructions

  1. Prepare the baking sheet: Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper to prevent the truffles from sticking.
  2. Grind the Oreos: Place the Oreo cookies in the bowl of a food processor and pulse until finely ground to create a smooth crumb base.
  3. Mix ingredients: Add the softened cream cheese and peppermint extract to the ground Oreos and pulse until the mixture is well combined and smooth, forming the truffle dough.
  4. Form truffle balls: Using a small ice cream scooper, scoop portions of the dough into your hands and roll each into a ball. Place the formed balls onto the prepared cookie sheet.
  5. Repeat forming: Continue scooping and rolling the dough into truffles until all the mixture is used.
  6. Chill the truffles: Place the cookie balls in the freezer and chill for at least 1 hour until they are firm enough to dip.
  7. Melt the white chocolate: Using a double boiler, gently melt the white melting chocolate, stirring frequently until smooth and glossy.
  8. Dip the truffles: Remove the chilled Oreo truffles from the freezer and dip each ball into the melted white chocolate, fully coating them.
  9. Add toppings: Place the coated truffles back onto the baking sheet and immediately sprinkle the tops with crushed candy canes for a festive finish.
  10. Set the coating: Allow the chocolate coating to harden completely at room temperature before serving or storing.

Notes

  • Ensure cream cheese is softened to room temperature for easy mixing and smooth texture.
  • Use a small ice cream scooper or spoon to get uniform truffle sizes.
  • Store truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
  • For a firmer chocolate coating, refrigerate the dipped truffles until set.
  • Crushed candy cane topping can be substituted with colored sprinkles or left off if preferred.
