Description

A refreshing and boozy Orange Bourbon Slush made with frozen orange juice, lemonade, bourbon, and instant tea for a perfect party drink to enjoy chilled and slushy.

Ingredients

Scale

Syrup Base

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups warm water

Slush Ingredients

  • 6 oz can frozen orange juice, thawed
  • 6 oz can frozen lemonade, thawed
  • 6 cups water
  • 3 teaspoons instant tea
  • 1 1/2 cups bourbon (can substitute rum for rum slush)

Instructions

  1. Dissolve sugar: In a mixing container, dissolve the sugar completely by stirring it into 2 cups of warm water to create a sweet syrup base.
  2. Combine ingredients: Add the thawed frozen orange juice, thawed frozen lemonade, 6 cups of water, instant tea, and bourbon to the sugar syrup mixture.
  3. Mix thoroughly: Stir everything vigorously until all ingredients are well combined and the tea is fully dissolved.
  4. Freeze the mixture: Transfer the combined liquid into a freezer-safe container and place it in the freezer overnight to allow the mixture to become slushy and chilled.
  5. Prepare to serve: Remove the slush about 30 minutes before serving to let it soften slightly, making it easier to scoop and enjoy.

Notes

  • For a non-alcoholic version, omit the bourbon or replace with additional tea or water.
  • Substitute bourbon with rum to make a Rum Slush variation.
  • Thaw frozen orange juice and lemonade fully before mixing to ensure smooth consistency.
  • Stir the slush occasionally if freezing longer to maintain texture.
