- 1 tablespoon orange zest
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed orange juice
Optional:
- 2 tablespoons turbinado sugar for sprinkling
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Prepare the Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
- Mix the Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the orange zest, egg, vanilla extract, and orange juice, and mix until well combined.
- Combine and Bake: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until a soft dough forms. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, flatten slightly, and sprinkle with turbinado sugar if desired. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until lightly golden. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
