Ingredients
Scale
Marinade
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon red wine vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
Mushrooms
- 16 ounces baby bella mushrooms
- Optional – finely chopped parsley for topping
Instructions
- Preheat the grill: Heat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat, aiming for a temperature between 350 to 450 degrees Fahrenheit to ensure perfect grilling conditions.
- Prepare mushrooms: Wash and dry the baby bella mushrooms thoroughly. Trim off any woody stems or ends to improve texture and appearance.
- Make the marinade: In a mixing bowl, combine olive oil, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, red wine vinegar, garlic powder, and ground black pepper. Stir well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
- Marinate mushrooms: Toss the cleaned mushrooms in the marinade, ensuring they are evenly coated. Let them sit and absorb the flavors for 3 to 4 minutes.
- Skewer mushrooms: Thread the marinated mushrooms onto wooden or metal skewers to make grilling easier and more uniform.
- Grill mushrooms: Place the skewers on the preheated grill. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes until grill marks form, then turn and grill for another 2 to 3 minutes until mushrooms are tender and cooked to your liking.
- Serve: Remove the mushrooms from the grill and carefully slide them off the skewers. Toss with optional finely chopped parsley for garnish and serve immediately while warm.
Notes
- Soak wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes before grilling to prevent burning.
- You can substitute baby bella mushrooms with white button mushrooms if desired.
- Adjust marinating time up to 15 minutes for stronger flavor but avoid too long to prevent sogginess.
- Serve as a side dish or toss with cooked grains or greens for a vegetarian meal.
- To keep mushrooms warm before serving, cover loosely with foil.
