Description

Delicious and savory grilled baby bella mushrooms marinated in a tangy mixture of olive oil, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, and red wine vinegar. Perfect as a flavorful side dish or appetizer, these grilled mushrooms are easy to prepare in under 20 minutes and topped with fresh parsley for an extra burst of freshness.

Ingredients

Scale

Marinade

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon red wine vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

Mushrooms

  • 16 ounces baby bella mushrooms
  • Optional – finely chopped parsley for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill: Heat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat, aiming for a temperature between 350 to 450 degrees Fahrenheit to ensure perfect grilling conditions.
  2. Prepare mushrooms: Wash and dry the baby bella mushrooms thoroughly. Trim off any woody stems or ends to improve texture and appearance.
  3. Make the marinade: In a mixing bowl, combine olive oil, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, red wine vinegar, garlic powder, and ground black pepper. Stir well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
  4. Marinate mushrooms: Toss the cleaned mushrooms in the marinade, ensuring they are evenly coated. Let them sit and absorb the flavors for 3 to 4 minutes.
  5. Skewer mushrooms: Thread the marinated mushrooms onto wooden or metal skewers to make grilling easier and more uniform.
  6. Grill mushrooms: Place the skewers on the preheated grill. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes until grill marks form, then turn and grill for another 2 to 3 minutes until mushrooms are tender and cooked to your liking.
  7. Serve: Remove the mushrooms from the grill and carefully slide them off the skewers. Toss with optional finely chopped parsley for garnish and serve immediately while warm.

Notes

  • Soak wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes before grilling to prevent burning.
  • You can substitute baby bella mushrooms with white button mushrooms if desired.
  • Adjust marinating time up to 15 minutes for stronger flavor but avoid too long to prevent sogginess.
  • Serve as a side dish or toss with cooked grains or greens for a vegetarian meal.
  • To keep mushrooms warm before serving, cover loosely with foil.
