Delight your taste buds with these succulent Garlic Miso Chicken Thighs cooked to perfection in the air fryer. The savory miso and garlic flavors meld beautifully with tender chicken, making it a must-try dish for any Asian cuisine lover.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken:

  • 6 boneless, skinless chicken thighs

Miso Marinade:

  • 2 tablespoons white miso paste
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon mirin (or rice vinegar)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 4 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Garnish:

  • Chopped green onions and sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Miso Marinade: In a medium bowl, whisk together miso paste, soy sauce, mirin, sesame oil, honey, garlic, ginger, and black pepper until smooth.
  2. Marinating: Add chicken thighs to the marinade, toss to coat, cover, and refrigerate for 30 minutes to 4 hours.
  3. Preheat Air Fryer: Set air fryer to 380°F (193°C) and lightly grease the basket.
  4. Cooking: Place marinated chicken in a single layer in the basket. Air fry for 16–18 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and internal temp reaches 165°F (74°C).
  5. Rest and Serve: Let the chicken rest, then garnish with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

  • For crispier edges, increase temp to 400°F for the last 2 minutes.
  • Pairs well with rice or stir-fried vegetables.
  • Can use bone-in thighs, adjusting cook time accordingly.
