Description

These Garlic Knots are soft, buttery twists of pizza dough infused with garlic and fresh parsley, topped with Parmesan cheese. Perfect as an easy appetizer or side dish, they bake to a golden brown and pair wonderfully with marinara sauce for dipping.

Ingredients

Scale

Garlic Knots Ingredients

  • 1 pound pizza dough
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Marinara sauce for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy cleanup.
  2. Prepare Dough: Divide the pizza dough into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a 6-inch long rope and then tie each rope into a loose knot. Place each knot spaced apart on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Make Garlic Butter: In a small bowl, combine the melted butter with minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to infuse flavors.
  4. Brush Before Baking: Brush half of the garlic butter mixture generously over the unbaked knots to ensure they soak up the garlic flavor.
  5. Bake: Bake the knots in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes, or until they turn golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Brush After Baking: Remove the knots from the oven and immediately brush them with the remaining garlic butter while they’re hot to enhance the buttery garlic taste.
  7. Add Cheese and Serve: Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the warm knots. Serve immediately, optionally with marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • You can use store-bought or homemade pizza dough depending on convenience and preference.
  • For an extra cheesy treat, sprinkle shredded mozzarella over the knots before baking.
  • Serve warm for best flavor and texture.
  • These knots freeze well – simply reheat in the oven before serving.
