Ingredients
Scale
Steak Bites
- 1 pound sirloin or ribeye steak, cut into bite-sized cubes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
Sauce and Tortellini
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 9 ounces cheese tortellini, cooked and drained
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Boil Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil to cook the tortellini. Once cooked according to package instructions, drain and set aside.
- Season Steak: Season the steak cubes with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning to infuse flavor.
- Sear Steak Bites: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak cubes in a single layer and sear for 2 to 3 minutes on each side until they develop a browned crust. Remove the steak bites from the skillet and set aside.
- Prepare Garlic Butter: Reduce the skillet heat to medium. Add butter and minced garlic to the skillet and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
- Make Creamy Parmesan Sauce: Stir in the heavy cream and grated Parmesan cheese. Cook, stirring continuously, until the cheese melts and the sauce thickens slightly and becomes creamy.
- Toss Tortellini in Sauce: Add the cooked tortellini to the skillet, tossing them gently so they become coated evenly with the creamy Parmesan garlic sauce.
- Combine Steak Bites: Return the seared steak cubes to the skillet and gently stir to combine all ingredients, warming the steak through.
- Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the top for a fresh finish. Serve immediately while hot for the best flavor and texture.
Notes
- Use either sirloin or ribeye steak for best flavor and tenderness.
- Be careful not to overcook the steak bites, as they can become tough.
- Freshly grated Parmesan cheese melts better and gives a richer sauce than pre-grated varieties.
- You can substitute heavy cream with half-and-half for a lighter version, but the sauce may be less thick.
- Garnishing with fresh parsley adds a nice color contrast and subtle herbal note.
