Ingredients

Scale

For the Chicken:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 4 slices deli-style ham
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs (beaten)
  • 1 1/2 cups panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

For the Creamy Dijon Sauce:

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the Chicken: Flatten the chicken breasts, season, add ham and cheese, roll up, and secure.
  3. Bread the Chicken: Dredge the chicken rolls in flour, egg, and breadcrumb mixture.
  4. Cook the Chicken: Sear in a skillet, then bake for 20–25 minutes.
  5. Make the Dijon Sauce: Melt butter, whisk in flour, add milk, cream, Dijon mustard, Parmesan, and seasonings.
  6. Finish and Serve: Slice the chicken, drizzle with sauce, and serve hot.

Notes

  • You can make the chicken ahead and reheat in the oven.
  • For a lighter version, use milk instead of cream in the sauce.
  • This dish pairs beautifully with roasted vegetables or mashed potatoes.
