Ingredients

Scale

Puff Pastry:

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed

Apples:

  • 2 medium apples (such as Honeycrisp or Granny Smith), peeled, cored, and thinly sliced

Spiced Apple Mixture:

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons light brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • Pinch of salt

Egg Wash:

  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon water

Additional:

  • 1/4 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the puff pastry: Roll out the puff pastry and cut it into 4 rectangles. Place them on the baking sheet.

  4. Assemble the pastries: Spoon the apple mixture onto each pastry rectangle. Brush the edges with egg wash.
  5. Bake: Bake for 18–20 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Finish: Drizzle with caramel sauce, dust with powdered sugar if desired, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Best served fresh on the day they’re made.
  • Use pre-made caramel sauce for convenience or make your own for a homemade touch.
