Description

Celebrate with these colorful and festive Birthday Cake Shots, combining cake vodka and Rum Chata with vibrant gel food coloring and a fun sprinkle-coated frosting rim. Perfect for parties and special occasions, these no-cook layered shots are easy to prepare and impress.

Ingredients

Scale

Liquids

  • 1 cup of Cake Vodka – chilled
  • 1 cup of Rum Chata

Decorations and Mix-ins

  • ¼ cup Betty Crocker ready-to-spread Vanilla Frosting
  • 1 teaspoon of Pink, Purple, Blue, and Green gel food color – divided
  • ¼ cup of Rainbow Sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Mix the Alcohol Base: In a large bowl, combine the chilled Cake Vodka and Rum Chata. Stir them together well to create a smooth mixture, then divide this mixture evenly into four small bowls.
  2. Add Gel Food Coloring: To each small bowl, add a different gel food color: pink, purple, blue, and green. Stir each bowl thoroughly to evenly distribute the color, creating four vibrant mixtures.
  3. Prepare Shot Glass Rims: Spread the vanilla frosting evenly around the top rims of the disposable shot glasses. Then, gently dip the frosting-coated rims into the rainbow sprinkles to create a festive and colorful edge.
  4. Fill the Shot Glasses: Arrange the prepared glasses on a cookie sheet for stability. Using a small ladle or spoon, carefully pour each colored vodka mixture into the shot glasses, filling them just below the rim.
  5. Chill Before Serving: Place the filled shot glasses in the refrigerator and chill for at least 4 hours to allow the flavors to meld and shots to be served cold and refreshing.

Notes

  • Use disposable shot glasses for easy cleanup and safe handling.
  • If gel food coloring is unavailable, liquid food coloring may be used but the colors might be less vibrant.
  • Chilling time can be extended overnight to enhance flavor mingling and cold serving temperature.
  • Adjust the amount of frosting and sprinkles based on personal preference for rim coverage.
  • These shots are best consumed responsibly and are intended for adults of legal drinking age.
