Description

This Balsamic Chicken Marinade is a flavorful blend of balsamic vinegar, honey, Dijon mustard, and herbs that creates juicy and delicious chicken every time. Perfect for grilling, baking, or pan-searing!

Ingredients

Scale

Marinade:

  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: pinch of red pepper flakes

Chicken:

  • 1 to 1.5 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl or resealable plastic bag, whisk together the balsamic vinegar, olive oil, honey, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, basil, oregano, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using.
  2. Add the chicken to the marinade and toss to coat evenly.
  3. Cover or seal and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 8 hours for best flavor.
  4. When ready to cook, remove the chicken from the marinade and grill, bake, or sauté until fully cooked and internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  5. Discard any remaining marinade.
  6. Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • This marinade is versatile and pairs well with various sides like roasted vegetables, pasta, or salad.
  • For enhanced flavor, consider reducing the leftover marinade in a saucepan and using it as a drizzle (ensure it doesn’t come in contact with raw meat).
