Scale
Main Ingredients
- 1½ cups whole milk ricotta cheese
- 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- 1 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
- ½ tsp kosher salt
- ¼ tsp freshly ground black pepper
Optional Garnish
- Lemon zest
- Fresh parsley
- Crushed red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a small baking dish to prevent sticking during baking.
- Mix Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the whole milk ricotta cheese, extra virgin olive oil, minced garlic, lemon zest, freshly squeezed lemon juice, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped fresh parsley, kosher salt, and freshly ground black pepper. Whisk together until smooth. For a creamier, whipped texture, you can use a hand mixer or food processor to blend the mixture for 1–2 minutes.
- Transfer to Baking Dish: Spoon the ricotta mixture into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top evenly to ensure even baking.
- Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the dip is lightly golden on top and just set but still creamy.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove the dip from the oven and allow it to cool for about 5 minutes. Garnish with additional lemon zest, fresh parsley, or crushed red pepper flakes as desired. Serve warm with crostini, crackers, or fresh vegetables for dipping.
Notes
- Using whole milk ricotta cheese gives the dip a rich and creamy texture.
- For an extra smooth dip, blend the ingredients thoroughly with a food processor or hand mixer.
- If desired, adjust salt and pepper to taste before baking.
- Serve warm for the best flavor and texture; leftovers can be refrigerated and gently warmed before serving.
- Optional garnishes add extra flavor and visual appeal but can be omitted to keep it simple.
