Description

These Air Fryer Steak Fajitas are a quick and flavorful meal perfect for busy weeknights. Tender strips of marinated flank steak are air fried alongside colorful bell peppers and red onion, seasoned with taco spices and fresh lime juice. The result is a smoky, juicy fajita filling ready to be served with your favorite tortillas and toppings.

Ingredients

Scale

Steak Marinade

  • 2 lb Flank Steak, cut into strips across the grain
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon taco seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon garlic paste (or 2 minced garlic cloves)
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • Juice from 1 Lime

Vegetables

  • 1 Large Red Onion, sliced
  • 1 Green Bell Pepper, sliced
  • 1 Red Bell Pepper, sliced
  • 1 Yellow Bell Pepper, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon taco seasoning

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Steak: In a large bowl, combine the soy sauce, 1 tablespoon taco seasoning, garlic paste, 3 tablespoons olive oil, and lime juice. Add the flank steak strips and toss thoroughly to coat. Cover and let it marinate for at least 10 minutes to enhance flavor and tenderness.
  2. Prepare the Vegetables: Slice the red onion and bell peppers into strips. In a separate bowl, toss the sliced vegetables with 1 tablespoon olive oil and 1 tablespoon taco seasoning until evenly coated to add seasoning and help them cook evenly in the air fryer.
  3. Air Fry the Fajitas: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Arrange the marinated steak strips and seasoned vegetables in the air fryer basket in a single layer without overcrowding. Cook for about 15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking. The steak should be cooked to your desired doneness, and the vegetables tender yet crisp.

Notes

  • For best results, cut the steak against the grain to ensure tenderness.
  • You can adjust the taco seasoning amount to suit your spice preference.
  • Serve with warm tortillas, sour cream, salsa, and guacamole for a complete fajita meal.
  • If your air fryer basket is small, cook the steak and vegetables in batches to avoid overcrowding.
  • Let the steak rest for a few minutes after cooking to retain juices.
